FAQ
● What is DeviceNet connector?
DeviceNet is an ODVA device-level communication protocol for industrial automation. DeviceNet cables offer an open, low-cost system that link between industrial devices such as sensors and actuators and higher-level devices such as programmable logic controllers and PCs.
● What does the coding mean on M12 connectors?
This coding prevents incorrect mating on products. In addition, shielding is available in most coded M12 connectors. For example, X-coded connectors are specifically shielded by the design of their coding.
● What is the difference between DeviceNet and Ethernet?
DeviceNet also has the advantage that it is uses CIP exactly as EtherNet/IP does, only over a CAN physical layer. Instead of the TCP/IP stack and Ethernet physical layer, DeviceNet uses CAN.Simpler, more cost-effective components (but more expensive cabling than Ethernet)
