The M12 family connectors are usually found in several applications that include; factory automation, measurement and control, communications, food and beverage, transportation, agriculture, robotics, and alternative energy.
When it comes to particular purposes, users must choose the right pin count. For power applications and sensors, 3 and 4 pins are needed. Profinet and Ethernet make use of 4 and 8 pin counts.
