What Is PP Strapping (Polypropylene Strapping)?

PP strapping is a cost‑effective, lightweight and recyclable plastic packing material made of polypropylene. Available in widths from 5mm to 19mm with customizable thickness, color and printing, it fits both manual and automatic strapping machines.
With good flexibility and tensile strength, PP strapping is widely used for bundling cartons, ceramics, books, textiles, furniture and daily‑use goods in logistics, warehousing, printing, building materials and e‑commerce industries.

Polyester PP/PET Strapping Band has become a popular alternative to steel for all but the very heaviest loads. Pound for pound, PET is stronger than steel, meaning that PET strapping with the same break load will be lighter than its steel strapping equivalent.


What is the difference between poly strapping and polyester strapping?
Polypropylene strapping has a matte finish and is usually embossed. Tension retention – Polyester retains tension over a long period of time. Polypropylene has low retained tension, often losing about half of the applied tension with an hour of being applied.
