Heavy-Duty Positioning Solution for Pipe Circumferential Welding

The TWB40 is a high-performance pipe welding positioner designed to precisely rotate and clamp cylindrical components for girth seam (circumferential) welding operations. It integrates a powerful headstock, adjustable dual support rollers, and a 3-jaw self-centering chuck for flexible and secure pipe handling. This positioner is particularly well-suited for high-amperage TIG/MIG/MAG welding applications on pressure vessels, pipelines, and long tubular components.

Structure & Characteristics

• Headstock with Slewing Drive:
  The main rotary drive consists of an AC motor + worm reducer. The hardened C45 gear output engages a slewing bearing mounted to the base frame, ensuring high transmission efficiency and stable rotation.

• Dual Support Roller System:
  Two adjustable support rollers are included, featuring steel wheels on manually elevated beams. Roller spacing and height can be adjusted to fit vessel diameters up to 720 mm (or 1150 mm with nozzle adapters). A manual lead screw + bogie system allows smooth linear roller positioning.

• Heavy-Duty Base Frame:
  The base is welded from profiled steel and thick plates. Machined interfaces guarantee proper alignment of headstock and roller supports.

• 3-Jaw Self-Centering Chuck:
  The standard chuck allows fast clamping of pipe ends within 100–500 mm diameter range. Mounted via T-bolts to the rotating table.

• Control System:
  Equipped with VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) for stepless speed adjustment, and a 6-meter wired remote control box for safe distance operation.
