Stainless Steel Square Tube Welded Cold Drawn (CDW) and Welded Cold Drawn Annealed (CDWA)
The square tube is made by drawing through a hardened steel or tungsten carbide die at room temperature. The purpose of cold drawing is to reduce the outside diameter or the wall or both, to produce a smooth surface finish, and to break down the structure of the weld, which results in recrystallization during annealing.
With cold drawn tubing under AW and AWA conditions, fine dimensional tolerances are achieved, with excellent uniformity of wall thickness and concentricity, grain structure and hardness.
