Francis Turbine, also called mixed flow turbine and variable pressure turbine, is widely used in hydropower plants with low, middle and high water head ranging from 25m onwards to 550m commonly 30 to 300m. The original Francis turbine has been modified from time to time to improve its efficienty, and today, an efficienty of more than 93% has been reached.
