Frequently Asked Questions
What is ODEX drilling?
ODEX is an adaptation of the air-operated down-the-hole hammer that uses a swing-out eccentric bit to ream the bottom of the casing. Cuttings blow up through the drive sub and casing annulus to a swivel conducting them to a sample collector or onto the ground for rapid removal.
What is Symmetrix drilling?
Previously known as Concentrix, the updated Symmetrix system allows for simultaneous casing and drilling of a hole. The system consists of three main components: pilot bit, ring bit (reamer) and casing shoe.
How does a casing advancer work?
The Casing Advancer has been designed to allow drilling and casing to be carried out simultaneously as one integral operation, eliminating the need to drill with a Rock Bit, pull the drill rod string, and then ream the casing back into the hole.
Where does overburden go during a mining operation?
Overburden is used for reprocessing, contouring land, and as a construction aggregate for buildings and roads. Mine tailings are reused for producing clay, tiles, glass, and concrete.
How deep can a water well be drilled?
Water wells for household use typically range from about 100 feet to 500 feet deep, depending on the geology and underground water levels of the area.
