General maintenance method of excavator engine

The oil and oil filter element must be replaced with original parts and replaced according to the specified maintenance cycle. Second-hand excavators need more careful care, and can shorten the time of oil filter replacement as appropriate, so that the engine life is longer.

Try to use diesel supplied by regular gas stations. Even regular gas stations add diesel, do not directly add to the tank, plus before filtering (more commonly used method is in the refueling mouth on socks). Drain the water at the bottom of the diesel tank and the oil-water separator before starting every day. The diesel filter should be purchased from the original factory, and the diesel filter should be replaced according to the prescribed maintenance cycle. Air filters should be checked frequently. When there is dust in the external filter element, the compressed air is blown outward from the inside. Air pressure should not be too large, so as not to blow out the filter element. The internal filter cannot be cleaned. After cleaning the outer filter 2 or 3 times, replace the inner filter with a new one at the same time. Do not idle for a long time to save fuel and prevent carbon accumulation.

Liners are generally made in special cast iron alloys containing elements with natural lubriing properties, like graphite. Other components are added like chrome, vanadium, and molybdenum to help ensure resistance to corrosion and wear caused by high temperatures.

• Easier maintenance. When liners are worn they can be replaced more easily than changing an entire cylinder block.

• Higher thermal conductivity. At operating temperatures the liners heat up more than the cylinders and must be able to expand in both diameter and length. If they were cast together with the cylinders, the resulting thermal loading would be high enough to fracture the materials.

• Less risk of defects. The more complex a casting, the more difficult it is to achieve perfectly even surfaces with low residual stresses.
