A Wire Wound Power Inductor is a circuit element whose primary function is to store energy through a magnetic field. When current flows through an inductor, the change in current creates a magnetic field around the inductor. According to Faraday's Law of Electromagnetic Induction, the varying current generates an induced electromotive force (EMF) inside the inductor that opposes the change in current.
