The PQWT-LDC Trolley Pinpoint Leak Detection System provides advanced ultrasonic technology for identifying and locating leaks in all types of underground water pipelines, helping utilities and municipalities reduce water losses through systematic monitoring.
Early Leak Detection Capabilities
Water pipe network leaks can result in significant water losses. The SePem® data loggers enable systematic network monitoring to reliably identify existing leaks and detect new ones early - significantly faster than conventional methods.
System Components & Operation
The PQWT system includes the LDC-5M Master receiver and PQWT 155 data loggers designed for both mobile and permanent installation. The LDC-5M units magnetically attach to valve rod extensions, hydrants, or other pipe network fittings.
The integrated microphone in each logger converts pipeline structure-borne noise into sound signals. These are cyclically recorded during low-consumption periods (typically 2:00 AM to 4:00 AM) when ambient noise interference is minimal. Leak-free pipelines show near-zero noise levels, while leaks produce significantly different values that indicate their presence.
