Desander is the second level solid control equipment in drilling operation, which is mainly used to remove harmful solid particles with particle size of 40-74um in drilling fluid. Using the working principle of centrifugal sedimentation, suspended particles can be separated from the liquid under the action of centrifugal acceleration.

At present, there are three types of desander: 300 × 2, 250 × 2, 200 × 2 and 300 × 1, 250 × 1, 200 × 1. The former is applicable to drilling rigs above 3000 meters, while the latter is applicable to small drilling rigs and workover rigs below 3000 meters.
