The output of the square wave incremental encoder is a quadrature AB pulse signal, that is, a high level or a low level. We call the change of the signal from low level to high level as a rising edge. The output of the encoder is a periodic repetition from one rising edge to another rising edge. The resolution of the encoder is in one-to-one correspondence with the engraved lines of the code disc. In the process of one rotation of the encoder, such an AB signal will periodically repeat many times. If the engraved line of the code disc is an encoder with 1024 channels, then the encoder will output 1024 such signal cycles when it rotates one circle, and the resolution of the encoder is also called 1024 lines, or 1024 pulses.
