Surface Of Stainless Steel Tubing
Pickled Surface Stainless Steel Tube (Mill Finish)
The mill finish of stainless stee tubings is pickled surface. The tubes will be pickled and passivated after solution annealing, then it will get a passivation coating to improve the performance of corrosion resistance. If there is no specific requirement on the surface, the tube will be mill finish.
Polished Stainless Steel Tube
The polished is mechanical polishing here, including internal surface and external surface. The roughness can be min. 0.4 µm (16 µin) or Grit 300 from polishing. Mechanical polishing uses a fully automatic polishing machine to control the surface accuracy and roughness to meet the needs of food grade and bioengineering.
Bright Annealing / BA Tube
BA tube is stainless steel tube with bright annealing, a heat treatment process that is different from ordinary solution annealing of stainless steel, and can obtain a better precision and surface roughness. The BA tube does not need to be pickled again, and its roughness can meet the precision requirements of polishing, but the cost is higher than mechanical polishing stainless steel tubes.
Electropolishing / EP Tube
Stainless steel EP tube is high purity and high-precision tube, which is mainly used in demanding environments such as bioengineering, semiconductors, laboratories, and precision instruments. Our EP pipe can reach a roughness of 0.2 on the inner surface to meet the stringent requirements of various working conditions.
The Manfacturing Process of Stainless Steel Tubing
- Cold Rolling is a preferred production process for high precision seamless tubing. Most of our stainless steel tubing and mechanical tubes are made by cold rolling. This technique provides a high forming rate, narrow tolerances and good turnouts. Now the biggest diameter we can get is 219 mm for this process.
- Cold drawing is the general process for our stainless steel tube and pipe. seamless pipe and tubes from this process can be got a a very narrow tolerance ranges, and keep the chemical element well. Additionally, the cold drawing process is the perfect choice for situations which place high requirements on the quality of the surface structure.
