Working Principle
The bottom of the ball valve has a ball supported by a trunnion. When the hole is aligned with the conduit,
the valve is open, allowing fluid to flow in. The rod starts to go down and it rotates 90° due to the channel
machined on it, causing the ball to rotate the same. Then some channels are machined straight and the stems
cannot go straight down.
In this case, due to the angled surface, the stem drives the ball to the bottom trunnion and seat. The ball hits the
seat only in this position, there is no pressure in the rest of the movement.
