Advanced Steel Coil Slitting Line of Exchangable Twin Slitters
Twin slitters are popular, because it is good solution for steel coil plants to make slit coils in high production,
twin slitters exchange with each other fast, only taking about 15minutes.
Fast change process:
1. unlock connecting joints, release hydraulic press on online slitter feet.
2. Motorized online slitter to travel to exchange platform.
3. motorized moving exchange platform to let the other slitter facing to online position.
4. motorized moving the other slitter to online position
5. hydraulic press the feet of the other slitter, connect drive shaft and lock.
6. before changing, slitting tools have been installed and knife gap is adjusted.
Without twin slitters, skilled worker takes 1-2 hours to arrange and adjust slitting tools on slitter shafts of online slitter, the whole slitting line has to stop and wait for the slitter is ready with newly arranged slitting tools. If twin slitters, during this period, another coil can be slitted.

Our twin slitters (double slitters) give very excellent performances:
- One slitter head is working on line, operator arranges knives and spacers on the other slitter.
- After knife arrangement, automatically test knife gaps to be proper.
- Exchange double slitters on exchange platform in Jog mode
- This process takes only a quarter time.
When customers want to slit a big gauge range of steel coils, like 0.3-6mm, 0.4-8mm, we make two slitters of different slitting duty, one slitter is for slitting thin coil sheets, the other slitter focus on slitting thicker coil plates.
We supplied 6x1600 double slitters, with one 0.3-3mm slitting machine and the other 2-6mm slitting machine to Indonesia. Customer is very satisfied with the design, no matter what thickness coil to slit, he will get good slitting result.
The two slitters can be driven by one drive motor and transmission, or each slitter has independent motor and transmission whose slitter head drives out and return back on rails without exchange platform. But, one exchange platform is a must when more than two slitters are needed for one slitting line.
