Application Scenarios of 7-Digit Code Display in Elevators
Floor Display
This is the most common application. The display screen inside the elevator cabin and outside the door shows the current floor in real-time using 7-segment codes (such as "5" "12"). Some elevators support two or three-digit display (requires multiple 7-segment code combinations, like "18" consists of two 7-segment codes "1" and "8").
Running Direction Indicator
Some elevators use a simplified version of the 7-segment display to indicate direction (such as " " " ), or they use adjacent arrow icons to clearly show the elevator's upward and downward status.
Fault Code Display
When an elevator malfunctions, the control system may display specific number combinations (such as "E1" "F5") through 7-segment codes as fault codes for maintenance personnel to quickly locate the issue (different brands have different code meanings, please refer to the manual).
Special Status Reminder
Such as elevator overload (“OL”), maintenance mode (“INSP”), etc., some parts will display letter information using a modified 7-segment code (adding an extra segment or multiple combinations).
