Strip characteristics of C1095 tempered spring steel.
The standard surface finish of C1095 tempered spring steel strip is blue polished. The finish is dark blue in color and the surface is polished to produce a very smooth surface with a typical RA value of less than 5. It can also be supplied in a non-scaled blue finish or a bright polished finish by special mill order.
 
 
Advantages of C1095 Polished Tempered Spring Steel Strip.
The biggest advantage of C1095 tempered spring steel strip is that it does not require any heat treatment after forming, thus eliminating any deformation problems that require post heat treatment stress relief. C1095 tempered spring steel does have limitations on formability, but for many applications this is a cost saving product compared to using annealed spring steel and post heat treatment. For mechanical springs, cycle life is typically higher than C1075 hardened and tempered spring steels.
