436 Stainless Steel Pipe are ferritic grade stainless steel and are superior to type 409 in oxidation resistance and corrosion tests. Compared with other ferrite materials, such as 409, 430 and 439, the addition of molybdenum enhances pitting resistance. The material is resistant to stress corrosion cracking in the presence of chloride and has excellent formability. Ideal for automotive exhaust applications requiring high temperature or chloride resistance in wet and corrosive environments. The 436 Stainless Steel Pipe showed excellent corrosion resistance in the condensate water test with the synthetic muffler compared with the 409, 430 and 439 models.
