The UNS designation for 2205 is S31803/S32205 and the EN steel no. is 1.4462. 2205 or Duplex 2205 is often used as an alternative to expensive 904L stainless steel owing to similar properties but cheaper ingredients.
What is the difference between duplex 2205 and 2207?
The duplex UNS S32205 pipes has high resistance to stress corrosion cracking on chloride-bearing environments, whereas; the super duplex grade also has resistance to chloride-bearing environments. 2205 serves SSC in the environment containing hydrogen sulfide. 2207 has high mechanical strength at elevated temperatures.
