Water Proof Polishing Stainless Steel Bars 300 Series 400 Series
300 and 400 series have comparable tensile strength and yield strength. 300 Series grades are highly ductile. On the contrary, 400 series grade has higher carbon content, tend to have more hardness than 300 series. Grade 400 series grades are stronger.
It has good ductility in the annealed condition but is capable of being hardened up to Rockwell Hardness 50HRC, the highest hardness of the 12 per cent chromium grades. Its best corrosion resistance is achieved when the metal is hardened and surface ground or polished.
