Gear Ring Description

From a fundamental transmission compatibility perspective, a gear ring is a gear component featuring internally

or externally distributed teeth arranged in a ring configuration. It is typically paired with a pinion to form a basic speed-reducing

or speed-increasing transmission assembly.

Its features include a simple structure and a relatively high number of teeth, enabling a substantial gear ratio

when paired with a pinion. Advantages encompass low manufacturing costs, straightforward installation,

excellent transmission stability, and strong adaptability, allowing it to form transmission systems

with pinions of various specifications.

Working Principle

When the pinion (driving gear) rotates, its teeth mesh with the gear ring's tooth surface. The resulting forces

between the tooth surfaces drive the gear ring to rotate or drive the pinion to rotate (if the gear ring is the driving gear).

This difference in tooth count between the two components enables the conversion of rotational speed and torque.
