Nickel Based Alloy Inconel 738LC Round Bar OD 25mm 792cc/In792 Round Rod Shaft
Nickel Based Alloy Inconel 738LC Round Bar OD 25mm 792cc/In792 Round Rod Shaft
Studies have shown that INCONEL alloy 718LC exhibits excellent oxidation resistance at temperatures above 1300 degrees Fahrenheit (equal to 704 degrees Celsius). Its resistance to stress-accelerated grain boundary oxidation is comparable to that of INCONEL alloy 718 and is significantly better than that of INCOLOY alloy 909. At a density of 0.282 lb/in3 (or 7.81 g/cm3), it is 5 % lower than the density of INCONEL alloy 718 and INCOLOY alloy 909, thereby significantly increasing the strength-to-weight ratio. The properties of INCONEL alloy 718LC are similar to those of INCONEL alloy 718 both in manufacturing and processing and are less limited than those of INCOLOY alloy 909. In addition, the special metal INCONEL alloy 783 can be used as a forging billet (AMS 5940) and can also be used to make mechanically processed bars, extrusion profiles, and wires.
Characteristics of Inconel 738LC
Generally speaking, the INCONEL alloy series has the following characteristics:
- High-Temperature Strength: INCONEL alloy maintains high strength in high-temperature environments and has excellent oxidation and creep resistance.
- Corrosion Resistance: INCONEL alloy has good resistance to corrosion and oxidation, including resistance to acidic, alkaline, and salt corrosion.
- Thermal Expansion: INCONEL alloy has a lower coefficient of thermal expansion and can maintain a relatively stable size in high-temperature environments.

IN738LC solid solution treatment
- After solution treatment at different temperatures and holding time, with the increase of temperature and holding time, the grain size of the surface increases, but the size does not change much after 1230 °C. The grain of the XOZ surface changes from coarse columnar crystal to equiaxed crystal.
- After different solution treatment + intermediate treatment + aging treatment, it was found that γ’ phases with different morphologies were precipitated between different grains. It has been confirmed that the difference in morphology of the γ’ phase occurs after the intermediate treatment, and the larger irregular γ phase and M23C6 carbide are precipitated on the grain boundary after the intermediate treatment.
