Standard Specification for Copper Sheet, Strip, Plate, and Rolled Bar
This standard covers the requirements for copper sheet, strip, plate, and rolled bar produced from copper with the following UNS Nos.; C10100, C10200, C10300, C10400, C10500, C10700, C10800, C10910, C11000, C11300, C11400, C11600, C12000, C12200, C12300, C14200, C14420, and C14530. Chemical composition shall conform to the chemical requirements pertaining to the materials UNS No. Tempering of materials shall be done by hot-rolling, cold rolling, and annealing. Copper material shall meet the maximum limit of electrical resistivity as indicated. The material shall undergo tensile strength, Rockwell hardness, and plate item tests to conform with the mechanical proptery requirement of the specification. The material shall also be capable of passing microscopical examination and embrittlement test, but not required by the specification.
MATERIALS:
C10800 (Oxygen-Free Electronic Copper): This copper material has a chemical composition of 99.95% copper (Cu) and small traces of phosphorus (P) and silver (Ag). It provides excellent electrical conductivity, high thermal conductivity, and low impurity levels. C10800 is widely used in electronic applications, such as electrical connectors, printed circuit boards, and integrated circuits, where high purity and minimal electrical resistance are essential.
C10910 (Silver-Bearing Tellurium Copper): C10910 is a copper alloy comprising 98.5% copper (Cu), 0.55% tellurium (Te), and 0.3% silver (Ag). This material offers improved machinability, high conductivity, and excellent thermal conductivity. It is commonly used in electrical components, such as switches, contacts, and semiconductor test sockets, due to its enhanced cutting and forming capabilities and good electrical performance.
C12000 (Phosphorus-Deoxidized Copper): C12000 is a copper alloy with a chemical composition of at least 99.9% copper (Cu) and a small amount of phosphorus (P). It exhibits high electrical and thermal conductivity, excellent corrosion resistance, and good ductility. C12000 is used in various applications, including electrical conductors, busbars, heat exchangers, plumbing components, and architectural details.
C12200 (Phosphorus-Deoxidized Copper): This copper alloy, commonly known as DHP copper, consists of 99.9% copper (Cu) and a small amount of phosphorus (P). C12200 exhibits great electrical and thermal conductivity, good corrosion resistance, and high ductility. It is extensively used in plumbing systems, heat exchangers, electrical wiring, and various industrial applications where excellent formability, reliability, and conductivity are required.
C12300 (Arsen Copper): C12300 is a copper alloy composed of 99.9% copper (Cu) and a small percentage of arsen(As). It offers high thermal and electrical conductivity, good corrosion resistance, and excellent workability. C12300 is commonly used in electrical components, heat exchangers, and architectural applications.
C14200 (Phosphorus-Deoxidized, High-Strength Copper): This copper alloy consists of 98.5% copper (Cu), 0.05% phosphorus (P), and small amounts of silver (Ag) and nickel (Ni). C14200 offers high electrical and thermal conductivity, as well as increased strength and hardness compared to other copper alloys. It finds applications in electrical connectors, heavy-duty components, and high-stress structural elements where both strength and conductivity are crucial.
C14420 (Nickel-Beryllium Copper): C14420 is a copper alloy containing 98.5% copper (Cu), 0.5% beryllium (Be), and small amounts of nickel (Ni). It offers excellent electrical conductivity, good corrosion resistance, high strength, and high fatigue resistance. C14420 is used in demanding applications such as electrical springs, connectors, switches, and contacts, where high electrical performance and mechanical durability are essential.
C14530 (Tellurium Copper): This copper alloy consists of 99.5% copper (Cu) and 0.5% tellurium (Te). It possesses high thermal and electrical conductivity, excellent machinability, and good formability.
