Product Description
316 is a type 18-8 austenitic stainless steel derivative steel, its main feature is to add 2% to 3% Mo element on the basis of 304 steel, so it has better oxidation resistance and atmospheric corrosion resistance, while having good high temperature strength and high temperature creep resistance. Because the alloy contains Mo, it has good pitting resistance in chlorine-containing environments, and can be used in Marine and offshore environments where corrosion resistance is required. The comprehensive performance of 316 exceeds 304, but there is still a tendency of intergranular corrosion, and the sensitization temperature range should be avoided in use. A large number of imported 316 grades in China are mainly American 316 and Japanese SUS316, these two materials have differences in Ni content, and should be paid attention to when choosing.
