About Type 301 Stainless Steel
Type 301 is an austenitic stainless steel that achieves high strength and ductility through cold working. While non-magnetic in the annealed state, it becomes increasingly magnetic with cold working. This modification of type 304 features lowered chromium and nickel content, resulting in an increased cold work-hardening range that allows for higher tensile strengths with better ductility retention compared to Type 304.
