Type 310 stainless steel contains the highest chromium-nickel content of all grades - 25% chromium and 20% nickel. This alloy is renowned for its superior scaling and corrosion resistance, excelling in high-temperature physical properties. At extremely high temperatures, its creep strength and resistance to brittling surpass all other austenitic grades. In the annealed state, it is non-magnetic. Type 310 is a non-heat treatable alloy produced by the electric-furnace process, meeting the exacting standards of the aircraft industry. Type 310S is a lower carbon version of Type 310, specifically designed for high-temperature applications.
