Types of Stainless Steel Beams
Stainless steel beams are categorized based on their cross-sectional shape, with the I-beam serving as the universal reference model.
I Beam
The most common beam in our inventory. The I-beam's center web thickness is limited by milling equipment capacity (typically 5/8″). I-beams are lighter in weight, making them ideal for many applications. Manufactured as a single solid piece of metal through rolling process.
H Beam
H-beams offer superior strength compared to I-beams, though they require more complex manufacturing. Instead of being rolled as one piece, H-beams consist of three individually created components welded together. This construction method allows each section to be reinforced separately, resulting in a heavier beam capable of withstanding greater force and pressure.
