Types of Stainless Steel Beams
I-Beam
The most common beam in our inventory. I-beams feature a center web that can be rolled according to mill equipment capacity (typically 5/8″). I-beams are lighter in weight, making them ideal for frequent use applications. Manufactured as a solid piece of metal through rolling processes, I-beams offer reliable structural performance.
H-Beam
H-beams provide superior strength compared to I-beams, though they require more complex manufacturing. Instead of being rolled as one piece, H-beams consist of three individually created components welded together. This construction method allows each section to be reinforced through multiple milling processes, resulting in a beam that can withstand significantly greater force and pressure. H-beams are heavier than I-beams and offer enhanced load-bearing capacity.
