DIN 1.2787, AISI 431 ESR Stainless Steel Round Bars specifically engineered for glass mold manufacturing. Available in grades AISI 431, DIN 1.4057, and 1.2787, delivered in prehardened or soft annealed states with rough peeled surface finish.

Material Overview
431 is a high chromium-low nickel Martensitic stainless steel with exceptional hardenability, offering high strength and good corrosion resistance. Typically supplied hardened and tempered in the tensile range 850-1000 MPa (condition T) with Brinell hardness range 248-302.

Heat Treatment Guidelines
Typical Hardening Temperatures: 980°C - 1020°C
Typical Tempering Temperatures: 640°C - 660°C, 590°C - 610°C
Typical Tempering Temperatures: 640°C - 660°C, 590°C - 610°C
Important Note: Tempering within the range 370°C - 565°C should be avoided due to significant drop in impact properties.
