Alloy 347/347H Technical Overview
General Properties
Alloy 347 (S34700) is a columbium-stabilized stainless steel offering excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion following exposure to temperatures between 800-1500°F (427-816°C). The alloy provides superior creep and stress rupture properties compared to standard 304 stainless steel, making it ideal for high-temperature applications.
Corrosion Resistance
Excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion in the chromium carbide precipitation range. Performs well in nitric solutions, diluted organic acids, and pure phosphoric acid. Resists polythionic acid stress corrosion cracking in hydrocarbon service. Not recommended for chloride solutions or sulfuric acid applications.
