Corrosion Resistance
- Provides excellent corrosion resistance
- High chromium content ensures good aqueous corrosion resistance
- Excellent resistance at normal temperatures with good performance in oxidizing and carburizing atmospheres
Heat Resistance
- Good oxidation resistance in intermittent service up to 1040°C and continuous service up to 1150°C
- Excellent resistance to thermal fatigue and cyclic heating
- Widely used in environments with sulphur dioxide gas at elevated temperatures
- Not recommended for continuous use in 425-860°C range due to carbide precipitation
- Typically used at 800-900°C and above, where 304H and 321 steels are less effective
