321 Stainless Steel Technical Information
Alloy 321 (UNS S32100) is a titanium-stabilized stainless steel that provides excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion following exposure to temperatures between 800-1500°F (427-816°C). This stabilization against chromium carbide formation makes it ideal for high-temperature applications.
The alloy offers superior creep and stress rupture properties compared to Alloy 304 and 304L, along with good low-temperature toughness. Alloy 321H (UNS S32109) provides enhanced creep resistance and higher strength at temperatures above 1000°F (537°C).
