Alloy 254 UNS S31254 Plate, also known as 254 SMO Plate, SA 240 UNS S31254 Plate, and SS 254 SMO F44 Plates, represents a premium super austenitic stainless steel solution for demanding industrial applications.
Alloy 254 SMO is a high-end, molybdenum and nitrogen alloyed super austenitic stainless steel with low carbon content. It demonstrates outstanding resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, stress cracking, and corrosion fatigue. With strength nearly twice that of 300 series stainless steel, it offers high ductility and impact strength, making it ideal for high chloride environments.

Corrosion Resistance
Excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion due to its high chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen content. With very low carbon content, there is minimal risk of carbide precipitation during heating. Possesses exceptional resistance in chloride-containing water, making it suitable for prolonged seawater exposure without crevice corrosion.
