About 316Ti Stainless Steel
316Ti stainless steel is an austenitic grade containing titanium stabilization, making it ideal for applications requiring enhanced corrosion resistance and high-temperature performance. This grade contains molybdenum for improved pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in chloride environments.
The titanium content (typically around 0.5%) stabilizes the structure at temperatures over 800°C, preventing carbide precipitation at grain boundaries and protecting against corrosion. This allows 316Ti to be held at higher temperatures for longer periods without sensitization occurring.

316Ti maintains physical and mechanical properties similar to standard 316 grades while offering superior high-temperature stability. The titanium stabilization makes it particularly suitable for applications involving both elevated temperatures and corrosive environments.
While 316Ti is commonly specified in European standards and German equipment designs, it offers comparable performance to dual-certified 316/316L for most aqueous corrosion applications. For high-temperature service above 1000°F, 316Ti provides equivalent performance to 316H.
