Product Overview
Duplex 2205 stainless steel combines both ferritic and austenitic properties, making it ideal for applications requiring excellent corrosion resistance and high strength. The S31803 grade has been modified to create UNS S32205, offering superior corrosion resistance.
This grade is not recommended for use above 300°C due to brittle micro-constituent precipitation, or below -50°C due to ductile-to-brittle transition.
Duplex 2205 (UNS S32205) is nitrogen-enhanced and provides significantly higher corrosion resistance than most austenitic stainless steels, along with these key benefits:
- High resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion
- Excellent performance in most caustic environments
- Good weldability characteristics
