Material Overview
Duplex 2205 stainless steel combines ferritic and austenitic properties, making it ideal for applications requiring excellent corrosion resistance and high strength. The S31803 grade has been modified to create UNS S32205, offering enhanced corrosion resistance.
Important Note: This grade is not suitable for use at temperatures above 300°C (due to brittle micro-constituent precipitation) or below -50°C (due to ductile-to-brittle transition).
Duplex 2205 (UNS S32205) is nitrogen-enhanced stainless steel offering superior corrosion resistance compared to most austenitic stainless steels. Key benefits include:
