It has high fatigue strength, abrasion and impact resistance, toughness, and torsional strength. It can be heat treated in a number of ways to give it a superior combination of properties.

- Soft Annealing:680 – 720°C,Cooling in furnace
- Stress relieve:450-650°C,Cooling in air
- Hardening:820 – 880°C,oil or water quench
- Quenching: 820– 860°C
- Tempering:540 – 680°C,Cooling in air
