General Information of Seaweed Extract

Seaweed extract is a kind of organic biological fertilizer. It is regarded as Biostimulants for plant growth. Soucing from Ascophyllum nodosum, seaweed extract is rich in trace and large amounts of nutrients, humic acid and plant hormones, which can improve soil fertility. In addition, seaweed extract fertilizer contains polysaccharides, proteins and fatty acids, which can improve soil water and nutrient retention, thus promoting crop growth. 

Foliar application of seaweed extract has been shown to improve the uptake of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and sulfur by soybeans. The study also showed that seaweed extract could improve tomato growth, crop yield and stress resistance. Moreover, using seaweed as fertilizer can increase leaf surface area and sugar content.

Application of Seaweed Extract

Foliar spraying is the most effective and efficient way to apply seaweed extracts to plants. Spraying on the leaf is better than spraying effect on soil 8 to 20 times.

The seaweed extract was sprayed with a very fine spray of water until it dripped from the leaf surface of the plant. Plants absorb nutrients instantly, and benefit from the next day.
