Screw chillers play a key role in PVC profile extrusion production lines. Their functions and advantages are mainly reflected in the following aspects:
1.Quick cooling and shaping
PVC melt needs to be cooled rapidly after extrusion through the mold to shape it. Screw chillers provide low-temperature cooling water (usually 5℃~20℃) to accelerate the stability of molecular structure and prevent profile deformation.
2.Precise temperature control
The PID control system maintains a constant water temperature (±1℃ accuracy) to avoid uneven cooling caused by ambient temperature fluctuations in traditional water cooling and ensure profile size consistency.
3.Eliminate thermal stress
Uniform cooling can reduce the residual stress caused by temperature difference inside PVC, prevent warping and cracking in the later stage, and improve the mechanical strength of the product.
4.Auxiliary equipment cooling
Synchronously provide cooling for the extruder barrel, screw, hydraulic system, etc. to prevent overheating shutdown and ensure continuous operation of the equipment.
How to choose a chiller for PVC plastic pipe production lines?
- When choosing a chiller, we need to calculate the power of the chiller based on the capacity of the extruder (rubber) per hour, the amount of water used in the water tank per hour, and the return water temperature.
- According to the energy saving, we can calculate the power of the chiller. In order to achieve the cooling effect, the chiller is generally selected to be slightly larger to avoid environmental factors affecting the energy efficiency ratio and ensure normal production.
- Choice of two cooling methods for the cooler. The customer's factory has a swimming pool or cooling water tower. Water-cooled coolers are more suitable than air-cooled coolers. Water-cooled coolers dissipate heat through the water tower and have higher cooling stability. There is no need to purchase additional cooling water towers; If there is no cooling water tower, the cooling power is small, and the environmental ventilation effect is good, you can choose air cooling.
