Product Description
In the presence of templates and primers, T4 DNA Polymerase catalyzes DNA synthesis in the 5 ́→3 ́ direction. This enzyme also has the activity of 3 ́→5 ́ exonuclease which is stronger than E. coli DNA polymerase I. Unlike DNA polymerase I, T4 DNA Polymerase does not have 5 ́→3 ́ exonuclease activity.

Scope of Application
1. Removal of 3’ overhangs to form blunt ends;
- Fill-in of 5’ overhangs to form blunt ends;
- Labeling DNA probe synthesis through displacement reaction;
- Synthesis of the second strand during site-directed mutagenesis;
- PCR product cloning without relying on ligation reactions.
