Product Overview
The H3C S5120V3-LI is a self-developed Layer 2 Ethernet switch from H3C. As the 2nd-generation intelligent managed switch, it is built for network scenarios requiring high performance, high port density and easy deployment.
This series offers 10/100/1000Base-T auto-negotiation ports and SFP fiber ports. It delivers gigabit-to-desktop access for enterprise networks, provides gigabit connectivity for end users or downlinks low-end switches in metro and industry networks, and aggregates traffic to high-capacity Layer 3 switches via gigabit fiber or link aggregation.
It adopts innovative IRF (Intelligent Resilient Framework) technology. Up to 9 units can be virtualized into one logical device to build a high-reliability, scalable and easy-to-manage intelligent network.

Comprehensive Performance
Designed for broadband access, it meets gigabit access demands of small and medium enterprises with gigabit ports and uplinks. Supported features include Jumbo Frame, 802.1X, MAC authentication, port security, LACP, 4K VLANs, 16K MAC addresses and blackhole MAC. It also supports L2/L3 priority mapping, port mirroring, traffic redirection, port isolation, ACL, port rate limiting and full IPv6 functions.
IRF2 (2nd-Generation Intelligent Resilient Framework)
IRF2 virtualizes multiple physical switches into a single logical device for unified management and operation.
- Simplified Management: Log in via any port of any member device to configure and manage the entire IRF system.
- Simplified Services: All control protocols run uniformly on the virtual device. Combined with cross-device link aggregation, it reduces protocol interactions and shortens network convergence time.
- Flexible Scalability: Devices support hot-plugging during expansion without disrupting normal operation.
- High Reliability: Link aggregation provides multi-link backup; automatic Master role switching implements 1:N device redundancy; real-time protocol backup ensures 1:N protocol reliability.

- Easy O&M: Single IP for unified management cuts operation costs and optimizes network topology.
Robust Security Mechanisms
It provides complete ARP defense including ARP Detection and ARP rate limit to defend against ARP attacks and prevent CPU overload.
Integrated with EAD (Endpoint Admission Control), it unifies endpoint security and network access control to realize active, full-range and centralized defense against viruses and worms. It also supports 802.1X and centralized MAC authentication for diverse network requirements.
Diversified QoS Policies
It implements L2-L4 packet filtering and traffic classification. Three queue scheduling modes (SP, WRR, SP+WRR) are available for port and queue configuration. Bidirectional ACL, traffic policing and port/flow mirroring are supported for network monitoring and troubleshooting.
Flexible Management Functions
It is compatible with SNMPv1/v2/v3 and iMC Intelligent Management Center. Multiple access methods including CLI, Web and Telnet are provided, along with SSH2.0 encryption for secure management.
MAC-based VLAN suits mobile office scenarios. Global and VLAN-based ACL deployment simplifies configuration and saves hardware resources.
Layer 3 Routing Capabilities
It supports static route, RIP, RIPng and OSPF V1/V2/V3 and other Layer 3 routing protocols.
