H3C S5000X-EI Series 10G Uplink Access Switches
Product Overview
The H3C S5000X-EI Series are third-generation intelligent managed switches independently developed by H3C, designed for high-performance, high-density, high-uplink-rate and easy-to-deploy networks.
They feature 10/100/1000Base-T auto-sensing ports and 10G SFP+ uplinks, delivering gigabit-to-desktop access with large uplink bandwidth in enterprise networks, or aggregating users/lower-tier switches and connecting to high-capacity L3 switches via 10G fiber/link aggregation in MAN or industry networks.
With innovative IRF technology, up to 9 switches can form a single logical entity, enabling high-reliability, scalable and easy-to-manage intelligent networks.

Rich Service Performance
The H3C S5000X-EI comes with 4 built-in 10G ports, delivering high-density Gigabit access and cost-effective 10G uplink to protect user investments. It supports 802.1X, Web and MAC authentication, as well as port isolation, ACL, port rate limiting and comprehensive IPv6 features.
IRF2 (Intelligent Resilient Framework 2)
IRF2 virtualizes multiple physical switches into one logical unit for unified management and operation.
- Simplified Management: Access any port to log into the unified system; configure the entire IRF via a single device.
- Simplified Services: All control protocols run collectively. Cross-device link aggregation replaces STP, reducing protocol interaction and accelerating network convergence.
- Flexible Scalability: Devices support hot plugging during expansion or removal without service interruption.
- High Reliability: Link aggregation provides multi-link redundancy. The system automatically elects a new Master upon failure for 1:N device backup. Real-time protocol backup ensures 1:N protocol reliability.
- High Performance: Overall switching capacity and port density equal the total of all member devices for prominent performance improvement.
- Easy Management: The whole framework uses one IP address, simplifying device and topology management and cutting maintenance costs.
Comprehensive Security Control Policies
It provides complete ARP defense including ARP Detection and ARP rate limiting to guard against ARP attacks and relieve CPU pressure. Multiple authentication modes such as 802.1X, Web and centralized MAC authentication adapt to diverse network requirements.
Rich QoS Policies
It supports L2~L4 packet filtering and traffic classification. Three queue scheduling modes (SP, WRR, SP+WRR) are available. Bidirectional ACL, traffic policing and inbound/outbound port & flow mirroring are provided for network monitoring and troubleshooting.
Excellent Management Features
The series is compatible with SNMPv1/v2/v3 and H3C iMC. It supports CLI, Web and Telnet for easy management, plus SSH 2.0 for secure encrypted access.
