ISO17357-1:2014 Standard Pneumatic Rubber Fender with 50kPa Pressure for Corrosion Resistant Marine Applications
Pneumatic Rubber Fender is an engineered marine impact mitigation system designed for vessel berthing and offshore contact operations in high corrosion and high environmental stress conditions. Constructed using reinforced elastomeric rubber layers combined with multi-directional high tensile synthetic cord reinforcement and an internal pneumatic chamber filled with compressed air to achieve controlled deformation under dynamic load conditions.
The operating mechanism is based on air compression energy transformation, where external vessel impact forces are distributed into internal chamber pressure variation and structural membrane deformation, enabling gradual energy dissipation and controlled reaction force reduction. This system ensures stable impact load management under continuous marine contact conditions where wave motion, tidal variation, and vessel movement occur simultaneously.
A coastal petroleum terminal located in the Middle East operating under extreme temperature variation and high salinity atmospheric conditions experienced accelerated deterioration of traditional fender systems due to material aging, surface cracking, and loss of elasticity, resulting in increased docking risk and structural maintenance frequency.
Hongruntong Marine supplied Pneumatic Rubber Fender systems engineered with enhanced anti-aging rubber compounds and reinforced corrosion resistant cord layers. Following implementation, the terminal observed significant improvement in material durability performance under extreme environmental exposure, reduced deformation degradation rate, and stabilized docking impact behavior.
