316 Stainless Steel Coin Cell Simulator with 25.4mm Outer Diameter and 13mm Inner Diameter for Li-Ion Battery Lab
This specialized test cell is designed for lithium-ion battery research applications. The cell consists of 5 components and is constructed from high-quality materials for reliable laboratory performance.
- Stainless steel sleeve: Outer diameter 25.4mm
- Teflon body: Inner diameter: 13mm
- Material: SS316 stainless steel
- Components: 5 parts
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Outer diameter | 25.4mm |
| Materials | 316ss |
| Inner diameter | 13mm |
| Component | 5 parts |
The cell is used in conjunction with an acrylic rack designed to maintain the cell in an upright position during testing. Two rack configurations are available:
- T5 Rack: Holds 5 cells | Dimensions: 500 × 70 × 90 mm
- T8 Rack: Holds 8 cells | Dimensions: 800 × 70 × 90 mm
The cell is placed vertically on the rack during measurement. For optimal performance:
- Add 5-10 drops of electrolyte to wet the electrode and separator
- Wrap cells with para-film after assembly in glove-box for better sealing
- Excess electrolyte will be retained in the cap
- Note: The gap between the steel rod and Teflon body is very small
Working Electrode Preparation: Combine active material (e.g., TiO2 NSHSs), conductive agent (carbon black, Super-P-Li), and polymer binder in 70:20:10 weight ratio. Mix thoroughly and apply to copper foil, then dry in vacuum oven.
Electrode Configuration: Use pure lithium metal as both counter electrode and reference electrode at room temperature.
Cell Assembly Sequence: Place working electrodes first, followed by separator, then lithium metal.
Separator Placement Technique: Stick lithium metal onto separator, wet with electrolyte to ensure adhesion, then place the assembly into the coin cell simulator.
