I. What is a Single-Station Powder Packaging Machine?
This is an automated or semi-automated packaging machine focused on quantitatively filling and sealing powdered materials (such as milk powder, protein powder, seasonings, additives, and pharmaceutical powders) into pre-made packaging bags. "Single-station" is its key feature, meaning that within a single work cycle, the main processes (such as bag picking, bag opening, filling, sealing, and bag unloading) are completed sequentially, rather than performing multiple processes simultaneously as in multi-station rotary machines.
It typically falls between manual packaging and fully automated high-speed production lines, making it an ideal entry point and choice for small and medium-sized enterprises seeking automation upgrades.
II. Core Working Principles and Processes
A typical workflow for a single-station automatic powder packaging machine is as follows:
1.Bag Retrieval and Opening: A robotic arm or suction cup retrieves a pre-made empty bag (stand-up pouch, back-seal bag, three-side seal bag, etc.) from the bag magazine and accurately opens the bag opening using the suction cup or clamp, ready for filling.
2.Quantitative Filling: This is the core step. Powder is quantitatively filled with a screw, measuring cup, or combination scale.
Screw Filling: The most common method, quantitative filling is achieved by controlling the number of rotations of a precision screw. Suitable for most powders with good flowability or general properties.
Net Weight Scale Filling: Employs a weighing sensor, stopping filling once the target weight is reached. This method offers the highest accuracy and is suitable for high-value materials.
Gross Weight Scale Filling: Weighs the bag along with the packaging.
3.Auxiliary Functions:
Vibration/Tapping: During or after filling, the bag is gently vibrated to compact the powder, reduce air inside the bag, and improve filling accuracy and packaging aesthetics.
Bag Opening Cleaning: High-pressure gas is used to blow away powder adsorbed at the bag opening, ensuring a clean and secure seal.
4.Sealing and Bag Discharge: A heat-sealing device heats and presses the bag opening to seal it. After sealing, a robotic arm releases the finished bag onto a conveyor belt or collection bin.
III. Main Components
1.Frame and Control System: Supports the entire machine. The core components are a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and a touchscreen human-machine interface for setting parameters (such as weight and speed) and monitoring operation.
2.Bag Feeding System: A bag storage unit for neatly stacking pre-made bags.
3.Bag Retrieval and Opening Mechanism: A servo motor-driven robotic arm and vacuum suction cup assembly.
4.Material Supply System: Includes a storage bin, a mixer (to prevent arching), and a feeding screw.
5.Weighing System: A precision screw assembly and a weighing sensor (or a volumetric metering cup).
6.Sealing System: An adjustable temperature and time heat-sealing strip.
7.Discharge Conveyor Belt: Delivers the finished bags.
