The roller cone bit is the most widely used drilling bit. When the roller cone bit is working, the cutting teeth alternately contact the bottom of the hole, the rock breaking torque is small, the contact area between the cutting teeth and the bottom hole is small, the specific pressure is high, and it is easy to eat into the formation; the total length of the working edge is large, so the wear is relatively reduced. Roller cone bits can adapt to a variety of formations from soft to hard.

At present, sizes ranging from 3 7/8 " to 26" have been developed, which can be applied to different formations from soft to very hard. Those designs are compatible with different drilling technologies such as conventional drilling and directional drilling.

Soft Formation TCI tricone bits:
The soft formation TCI tricone bits are used to drill low compressive strength, very soft formations.

The bit maximized to use of both conical and chisel tungsten carbide inserts of large diameters and high projection.

The cutting structure design, combined with maximum cone offset, results in high bit penetration rates. The deep intermesh of cutter rows prevents bit bailing in sticky formations.
