The Roots Air Blower is a positive displacement rotary blower engineered for demanding chemical industry applications. Constructed from durable cast iron and ISO 9001 certified, this blower delivers reliable performance with pressure capabilities up to 200 KPa.
Working Principle
This volume rotary blower utilizes synchronous gears at the rotor shaft ends to maintain precise engagement between two rotors. Each rotor's curved concave surface and the cylinder inner wall form the working volume. During rotation, gas is transported from the suction port to the exhaust port, where higher pressure gas causes momentary backflow and pressure increase before discharge. The non-contacting rotors maintain tight clearance for oil-free, contamination-free operation.
Key Differences from Centrifugal Fans
- Operating Principle: Roots blower uses two figure-8 blades that squeeze gas to outlet; centrifugal fan uses curved blades that throw gas outward
- Pressure Capability: Roots blower operates at higher pressures (9.8-200 KPa); centrifugal fan operates at lower pressures
