The USB-protocol controller operates without requiring software code, while USB descriptors can be partially modified via external ROM, SPI, or custom mask options. The device utilizes TI's proprietary SpAct architecture to recover audio clock from USB packet data, enabling low-jitter playback through on-chip analog PLLs.
