The LTC4364HDE-2 is a general-purpose surge suppressor chip with integrated ideal diode control, designed to protect main power supplies, joint drive circuits, and sensor power supply chains in humanoid robots. With a wide input voltage range of 4-80V, it can withstand high-voltage surges caused by motor start-stop cycles and cable disturbances.
This device supports adjustable output clamping and, when paired with an external MOSFET, achieves an extremely low on-state voltage drop. Replacing traditional Schottky diodes, it ensures uninterrupted power supply to downstream controllers and sensors during power dips and transient undervoltage conditions.
Featuring multiple protection mechanisms including -40V input reverse connection protection, -20V output reverse voltage withstand, and timed overcurrent shutdown, the chip automatically retries with a low duty cycle of 0.1% following a fault, eliminating the need for manual reset and meeting continuous robotic operation requirements.
The HDE version operates over a wide temperature range of -40°C to 125°C. Its compact 3×4 mm DFN package saves PCB space while low cut-off current reduces system quiescent power consumption. It provides comprehensive protection against power supply spikes, reverse wiring, short circuits, and overloads in robotic power supplies, ensuring stable and reliable operation of servo motors, vision systems, and main control circuits.
