LTC4364HMS-2 Integrated Circuit Chip Surge Stopper with 4V to 80V Range, Automotive AEC-Q100 Qualified and Reverse Input Protection to -40V
LTC4364HMS-2 is a high-performance surge suppressor with an ideal diode controller that provides dual power supply protection via two external MOSFETs. The main path clamps high-voltage surges above 80V, provides sequenced overcurrent shutdown, and monitors overvoltage (OV) and undervoltage (UV). The ideal diode path replaces the Schottky diode, significantly reducing voltage drop and power consumption while maintaining output voltage during power cuts or power loss and withstanding -40V reverse-connected inputs.
The device complies with the AEC-Q100 automotive standard, operates over a wide temperature range of -40°C to 125°C, and is housed in a compact MSOP16 surface-mount package. The -2 variant supports automatic restart with a fault delay, eliminating the need for manual reset.
Designed for humanoid robotics applications, it can be deployed in the main power supply, joint servos, and the input stage of vision modules to effectively suppress voltage spikes, surges, and reverse-connection short-circuit faults caused by motor start-stop cycles and multi-channel load switching. This prevents damage to the main controller, drivers, and image processing chips while balancing system power supply efficiency with continuous operational reliability.
